Besting the iPhone Deal In Canada

Personally, I'm no fan of Bell, but $7 for 3G data on a HTC Touch is certainly a viable option. And remember, Rogers never would have been able to carry the iPhone if Apple didn't agree to the pricing.

rgbfilter.com eats my time

A new project that I've been working on with some friends is finally coming to fruition. That would be rgbfilter.com and it's related weekly podcast, the third episode of which you can watch part of right now. The section available below is basically a tribute to FX maestro Stan Winston after his passing.

I'm one of the co-hosts, as well as editor. Because of that, much of what I would be posting here ends up there. The focus of rgbfilter.com is on technology and entertainment, and we try to focus on the point of view for content creators, whether you're an indie film maker, animator, designer etc.

Bell's Own Data Shatters P2P Red Herring

Clinging to the bogus 'internet as highway' analogy, Bell tries to spin it's 'congestion' issues after the CRTC forces it to publicly release data to prove it's case. The numbers don't lie. I don't think Bell has a case.

AMD Launches Radeon 4870. Is it enough?

The Radeon 4870 is looking to be a pretty good deal compared to Nvidias GTX 280, which AMD needed. Of course, Nvidia still has the physics engine and Cuda driver upgrade coming to the 8 series and up, allowing for GPU accelerated video encoding and support in Photoshop CS4.
